Type of Window Films:
HIGH PERFORMANCE (HYBRID METAL ) Window Tint Films:
like dyed film, it keeps heat away from interior space by reflecting it away; in the case of high performance or metallized hybrid film, this is done by very small metallic particles – invisible to the eye – embedded in the film. It is a great heat reject economical however, the drawback of metallized film is the fact that its metallic content has a tendency to interfere with radio transmission, GPS.
DYED Window Tint Films:
Is the most economical type of window-tinting film – least expensive than the others – blocks light rays by the addition of dye to the film; The dye is constructed in a layer next to the adhesive, and then applied to the window. Solar heat is absorbed by the dye in the film, thus preventing some of the heat from entering through the window. Depend on technology, The dye does tend to change in color with time unless they are manufacturered with COLOR STABLE TECHNOLOGY (an upgrade from economy). Please check with your tint dealer if they are color stable technology films.
CARBON Window Films:
delivers rather better results. Carbon film doesn’t have any metal in it, so the issue with radio transmission doesn’t arise when it is used. Carbon window-tinting film is dark and tendency to have carbon color tone, which provides a tasteful option on windows. The carbon content of the film help blocks the infrared light (the kind that causes heat) that enters through the windows. Carbon window-tinting film is about as effective as other varieties in blocking heat; its use will effectively cool inside space while the uv help prevent fading to upholstery. Thus the air conditioning will not need to work so hard to cool the space during the hot summer. Unlike dyed and high performance film, carbon films are more effective in rejecting heat while not interfering with radio signals. Most carbon films do constructed with COLOR STABLE TECHNOLOGY.
CERAMIC Window Films:
is one of the highest quality of window tint film, contains neither metal nor carbon, but instead nano particles of ceramics. Ceramic film is a new additional technology to the tint industry, but has already proven its worth in terms of performance and reliability. Ceramic window-tinting film help cuts the solar heat that enters through the windows in the form of infrared light, while allowing maximum visibility both by day and night. Like carbon film, ceramic window-tinting film allows maximum efficiency in the functioning of radios, cell phones, GPS systems, and all other such devices being operated from inside the protected space. It surpasses the other types in its resistance to glare and fading, and renders windows highly shatter-proof. Ceramic film is also most effective in its blocking of ultraviolet light from the interior; in the case of ultraviolet light (the kind of light rays that contribute to sunburn and skin cancer), ceramic window-tinting film can block up to 90% of IR heat from entering the interior. Note that you will still feel the radiant heat of the glass.
MULTI Layered Films:
The Crystalline Series features a proprietary, multilayer optical film nano-technology that combines over 200 layers in a film that is thinner than a Post-it® Note. This unique technology is the reason a clear film can reject more heat than darker films. This is the most effective light film in rejecting heat, however the cost is a bit higher due to proprietary technology.
